Services & Machines We Employ
At J & D Machine and Gear, we employed various tools and equipment to shape, cut, drill, and finish workpieces. We machine parts for manufacturing, aerospace/aeronautics, fishing/oceanography, construction, and bakery industries on projects that are small and large, using a wide range of materials ranging from Aluminum, Carbon Steel, Copper, Stainless Steel, Titanium, etc. Each piece of equipment in our shop serves a specific purpose, allowing our experienced and skilled machinists and operators to transform your raw materials into finished products. Below are examples of common machine shop equipment we explore in our shop.
1. Lathe
The lathe is a versatile machine that we use for turning cylindrical workpieces. It rotates the workpiece while a cutting tool is applied to shape, face, drill, or thread the material. We employed lathes widely to create symmetrical components, such as shafts, pins, and bushings, by removing material from the workpiece.
2. Milling Machine
We employ powerful milling machines to cut, shape, and drill solid materials. It involves using rotary cutters to remove material from the workpiece, producing complex shapes, slots, and holes.
3. Bandsaw
As you know, bandsaws are designed for cutting a variety of materials in straight or curved shapes; here at J & D Machine, we use these bandsaws consisting of a continuous band of toothed metal that rotates around two or more wheels for cutting metal, plastic, and other materials with precision and efficiency.
4. CNC Machine
Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines are versatile tools that are computer-controlled to perform precise cutting, drilling, and shaping operations. Here at J & D, we use CNC machines for milling, lathes, or routers. We program them using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) or Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software, allowing for complex and repeatable operations with high accuracy.
5. Hydraulic Press
Hydraulic presses are used to apply pressure to shape, mold, or compress materials. We use hydraulic cylinders to exert force on the workpiece for tasks such as stamping, pressing, and forming metal parts.
We rely on a diverse range of equipment to perform precise machining operations. The list of equipment mentioned here represent only a fraction of the vast array of machines we use at J & D Machine and Gear. We also partner with several other shops in the Seattle area that uses other type of machines to produce professional high-quality products. Each machine plays a vital role in producing high-quality components and parts we produce for numerous industries. By harnessing the capabilities of these machines, we continually strive to achieve greater efficiency, accuracy, and productivity in our daily operations.
